my remote is a beolink 1000 but it doesnt have a menu button???? why would this be?

hi, i cant get my AV to work on my beovision3500 does anyone know how i can get it to work?? i've pressed the button but it doesnt seem to do anything, but i have all the AV connections in the rear of my tv.
