[quote user="Jez"] Very nice analogy Lee, I went from 9's to 5's and never looked back, the difference to me is mind blowing. I then put my 9's as rears and after about 6 months I thought what would 5's sound like as rears too. Well I got an offer for a pair of (one year old, not even broken in yet) second hand 5's, offer

Nice analogy 9 Lee. I like to thrash whatever I have,so its time for a bigger engine!

Had the BL9 about a year and a half and have decided to search for a pair of BL5.I cant carry on knowing what B&O's finest effort have to offer. The BL9 are fantastic but it doesnt seem such a big jump on the used market to own the best of the best! Has anyone done the same move? Cheers.

ALT gave me better results than my previous high end seperate systems. Not heard BL5 but going on experience of BL9 they might just be the best availabe.

Good point, but a collegue of mine recently placed a 700W Pass X350.5 with his 802D and still did not get the result he expected on many fronts in an average size living room.It is rare to find a BL9/5 owner seeking out more of the same and most are just happy with them which speaks volumes. The problem with the B&W is that you will probably never have enough power (huge boat anchor power amp's!!) to drive them to deliver timing and dynamics like the BL9. Put simply, with BL9 you listen to the music and with B&W you think about making it better whilst listening to the music! I have only had experience with Revel speakers and

We just had sky installed on the old Avant VCR and the CDV input which used to be a DVD player is now the sky box making the DVD player redundant. Can the dvd player work along side the sky box,and what input does it work under? Cheers

Hi John, I worked my way up through the hifi separate ranks over the last 10 years and ended up using Mark Levinson and Pass labs which gave a beautiful sound but one that still didnt relinquish the need to upgrade to better cables or bigger amps ect,it ends up being more about the gear than the music and I basically got bored of the concept. We always

I have to say the BL9's never fail to impress me and I moved from a system costing nearly 3x more. The quality of sound does vary depending on the age of the source material.Older stuff sounds slightly 'thinner' with more noise but take a current recording or remastered cd and this setup is just superb-I can think of less ways to improve

Well, having spent over a week with these amazing speakers-and player Iam totally stunned by the detail, clarity, realism and total enjoyment this system gives you for hour after hour which my previous system did not quite do. The BL9/BS9000 beats my old system which was nearly 3 times the price (used) -I was not expecting it to since this was supposed
