Turns out it was a piece of tape which had came unstuck after all these years, and the corner was hanging down far enough to stop the tone arm transport as it went into the tunnel on the left side. It was far enough in that you could only feel it, not see it. Trimmed it with a pair manacure clippers and all was good. Thanks, Phil

I just drug my TX out of storage to put some of my vinyl collection into I-tunes. When playing the first album the tone arm only traveled half way across the surface when the transport quit moving to the left. It looks like the transport stops when it reachs the a switch which I assume is the locator for indexing 45 RPM records, although the TX is set
