How difficult is it to adjust the springs beneath the platter? Secondly, is reattaching the belt difficult?

I'm also wondering how to remove the platter so as to adjust the leaf springs?

I've recently acquired a sharp looking RX2. I've set the tracking weight to 1.5 (mmc5 cartridge and stylus). However i'm noticing some distortion when the stylus reaches the center of the record that's playing; higher frequencies sound washed out and static-y. It's noticeable but not drastic. Any suggestions?
