  • Re: Evaluating Previously Owned B&O Cartridges

Hello Martin, Thanks for the reply. I hate to sound like such a dunce with the questions, but what should I be listening for? I have a CBS Laboratories "Technical Series Test Record" that I have used to compare the inside and outside bands of the record, and for separate right and left channels. I would assume that since the 4002 is a tangential

  • Evaluating Previously Owned B&O Cartridges

I recently got a very decent Beogram 4002 with a MMC 4000 cartridge on ebay. Any thoughts on evaluating the condition of a used cartridge if one does not own an expensive microscope and have the skill to evaluate a cartridge with it. We only have one Audio/Video establishment here in Boise, Idaho worthy of the name, and they don't even carry turntables

  • Beogram 8000 Tone Arm Panel Adjustment

Hello, At some point in years past the panel over the tone and sensor arm came off on my Beogram 8000 and I eboxed it back on. I seem to recall I greased the panel mechanism that raises and lowers over the tone arm. I think maybe either that was the wrong thing to have done or something else might need adjusted because the panel drops very quickly when

  • Re: Beogram 8000 platter compatability

Hello Phil, Thanks for the reply. I am at the other end of the universe, Idaho! Only kidding Idaho just seems that way. Is the platter you have available from either a Beogram 8000 or 6006? The distance for shipping is not a problem please contact me off list at: jfrancis@boisestate.edu Regards, John

  • Re: Beogram 8000 platter compatability

Hello Martin, Thanks, you just might have saved me some grief. Someone who should know better who fixes Beograms here in the states has said they have a platter but the photo they have shown me looks like it is on a 4000 or 4002 as I mentioned. It looked just like the platter on the 8000. Is it a question of the diameter or thickness of the platter

  • Beogram 8000 platter compatability

Hello, I am looking for a replacement for a Beogram 8000 platter that I managed to mess up cosmetically, and someone has a platter from a 4000 or 4002 that from the image looks very similar to the 8000. Can anyone tell me if they are basically the same? Regards, John

  • Beogram Platter Wanted

Hello, I am looking for a Beogram 8000 platter in good condition but will also consider a 6002 or 8002 if available. I live in the USA but would pay intenational shipping if someone across the pond has one available. Thanks, John

  • Re: Any thoughts on refinishing the platter on Beogram 8000

Hi Peter, Good hearing from you again. Curious about what you meant by levelling a 6002 or 8002? Are the platters thicker? John
