Update: I bought a set of Beovox RL6000 in mint condition today unseen. It will take a couple of days to have them delivered. Black piano lacquer with floor stands and cabels for less than 135 Euro. They will be tested with my Beocenter 9500. I´m not sure that I will like them soundwise however. I have never listened to passiv B&O speakers

All MX 7000 had active speakers and the MX 6000 had passive speakers. http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=642 I had a MX 7000 many years ago. I sold it and bought a AV 9000 that I still use. If the CTR is used as a stand alone product I would choose a MX 7000 every day in the week. The mono speaker in the AV 9000 is not as good as the stereo

I always liked the AV 9000, Beosound Overture, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000 combo. The Beosound 9000 is another favorite. David Lewis designed many B&O icons during his career. Sound wise the Beolab 5 is on top. The design took time to get use to.
I went for the 4000 and was never disappointed by them, however, the newer 4000 with ICE Power amps has a higher distortion rate + smaller amps than the older version, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Out of curiosity, can one say the same about the new Beolab 8002 and Beolab 6002 with ICE Power?
After about 9 years of a lot of playing my drivers went, i checked price to replace & recalibrate through B&O service and seem to recall it was very reasonable give their new/used value. They still sound wonderful after a further 5 years although they are now in a link room.
I agree, B&O after sales
What price point did you see the BL5's for? Sometimes you never know what financial position is in and if it's all borrowed money, sometimes you are forced to sell.
I would love to buy second hand Beolab 5 under market price from someone desperate that lived above their financial means by borrowing money
It's just another variation of the infamous Nigerian scam.
I think you are right. Searched the french forum yesterday and found a thread. Could be the same people fishing for people to scam. I used google translate to understand what the french members wrote. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/30326/316892

Just out of curiosity. Is it common that there are scams on second hand equipment from B&O? I looked at two ads from abroad and both advertised Beolab 5 speakers but with different prices. I belive that they where too good to be true. Haven´t even contacted the sellers. Even with the financial crises around Europe, I don´t think anyone
The serial and software numbers of the Beolink 7000 are in a sticker that is situated "under" the hinge.
Found it. Thanks!

Thanks, is there any reason to let B&O download a newer software or is it even possible?
Generally,

Is that the software version the Beocenter got from the factory?
Yes.
Thanks, is there any reason to let B&O download a newer software or is it even possible? Now I know that my Beosystem 7000 is from 1994/95, my AV9000 from 1997 and Beocenter 9500 from 1991 . Where
