  • Re: Value of a BeoGram 8000

Oke a little update :): I went to the B&O dealer located near to my own location. The owner of the shop told me the stylus was in good condition and you can use it as long as you want because it can't go to pieces. He checked the stylus under a magnifying glass before he told me that :). Also...

  • dead Beogram 8000 :-(

Hi all, Since 1982 I’m the proud (first hand) owner of a Beogram 8000. Thanks to this “friend” all my vintage records are still in a tiptop shape. Until recently he has never let me down. However since a few weeks he doesn’t start anymore. I noticed the following: when I disconnect...

  • Spares for BeoGram 8000

Can anyone help with finding spares for my 8000. I picked it up non-working about 8 months ago, I did check it over but failed to notice until I got it home that the motor and a circuit board that go below the platter were gone (maybe other parts too in that area)..... But I probably would still have...

  • Re: Beogram 8000 - not spinning

Thanks Martin, Good thought, that may indeed be the pointer into the right direction. After checking again I did notice that the mains plug (Continental European plug into a UK converter) made an unreliable contact, which could explain the kind of switching noise you described. I'll keep your suggestion...

  • Beogram 8000 - not spinning

After having refurbished my Beogram 8000 (with new capacitors and recently with Martin's excellent stainless steel tacho disc) it played wonderfully for about 2 weeks. Warm and full sound on a BM6000 with MS-150's connected (my BM8000 is still a 'project' to be completed). Then suddenly...
