• Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology

Hello Geoff, Could I ask you also to have a look at my question a few "lines" up in regards to the connection of speakers to the BS3. I have a room with 6 speakers (2 x BL9 4 x BL6000) apart from the BL2 and the Centre speaker in the BV9. Kind regards Rolf

  • Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology
Hi Geoff, Is there value in AST if you have a simple BV7-40 and BL7.2 set up? Thanks for your advice. Stephen
Hi Stephen, If you have only the BL7.2 and no other loudspeakers, then you will not be able to turn AST on. AST requires that you have at least 3...

  • Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology

I am about to upgrade my BV9/BS3 with the new Digital Surround Module and latest s/w build. Can anybody answer if the attached loadspeakers to the BS3 can simply be "daisy chained" in a single "loop" from the BS3 or if they need to be at least Right and Left seperated in two "loops"...

Almost at random... make sure that you can view the TV screen from the viewing position.... Apart from that, it really doesn't matter where it is. :-) Cheers -geoff

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
Thank you very very much. I am still confused about a couple of issues. When in the set up menu and measuring all of the points from point A and B, one of the points measured to is viewing position. What is that position and how does it relate to the positions used with...
On topic 4, I have indeed a very symmetrical setup in a 6x5m room.
In that case, AST would probably be of no benefit to you. It's a solution to a problem - but you do not have that problem... :-) Cheers -geoff

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
1.) Is it true that I need to purchase a new Beosystem 3 in order to have AST? 2.) Or can my Dec 2006 Beosystem 3 be upgraded with the AST module and about how much would that cost? 3.) I currently have 1xBL7.1, 1xBL2, 4xBL5, so currently my BL2 does not produce any sound...

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
However, I am confused as a menu appears that says Distance 1, Distance 2, Distance 3, Rotate and allows settings to be changed for all four of these. I do not see this menu anywhere in the user guide. What is it for? Selecting one of the distance options will produce...

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
I agree with Razlaw. It sounds like we've discovered that the Linear PCM issue can be helped with AST. Perhaps an unexpected benefit of AST! Please stop in from time to time and join in our BeoWorld discussions, Geoff.
Hi Beojeff. If you use AST, you will...

  • Re: AST Help & Understanding
Geoff, I've researched the issue with the PS3 and the lack of utilizing all the speakers. It seems that it's a common surround processor issue found with cheaper surround processors. (I hope this matter can be fixed so that the BeoSystem 3 maintains it's status...
