Re: Beolab 6000 or 8000 - your opinion.

From a design point of view, I'd have the 8000s either side of the AV9000. The 6000s would look too slim in comparison to the size of the AV9000. BeoLab 3s would look wrong IMO.

There are then, as Martin says, the huge sonic differences between the 6000s and the 8000s. 8000s can sound wonderful with classical and jazz music.

Actually Alex you're definately right about the BL3's being wrong in that setup, they wouldn't look right - I agree.

Just a more versatile speaker in the right environment, acoustic lens, ICEpower, bass radiators and all that!

i have the 6000's and never cease to be amazed by the oomph they display , so much for them being bass light eh ?

i was playing ace of spades on them a few weeks ago and i actually had to turn the bass down

These are BeoLab 6000's you were listening to, Flappo? My feet produce more bass as I walk!!! Laughing

I'm definately an 8000s man myself - the 6000's are excellent as rear speakers, but lack in every other department IMO. Just not enough.... well, "oomph", as you put it!!

    Muchos Gracias Cool

I am resisting the temptation to pass comment on your ears, Flappo.

I suggest that you get these speakers checked out. My guess is that the tweeters have blown!
