It also says that the iTunes Plug-in for the Serenata and the BS6 will be available in a "few weeks".

    Re: The Serenata has launched!

Here is how you send a text message..... How to enter text … You must enter text, for example, when you write a text message or wish to add a new contact to the phonebook. In text mode, use the wheel to highlight letters and press OK once to select the first letter, twice to select the second, and so on. Useful hint … When you purchase the phone it is set to ABC mode. To switch between ABC and T9 mode, press and hold at the bottom of the screen..........nlb.

Do they say if it is only a plug in for iTunes on Mac, or if they'll have a plug-in for iTunes on PC as well.

I wonder if there will be a case designed for the Serenata and the Earset 3. The serene is ok without one because it's a flip open phone but the screen on the Serenata will no doubt be vunerable to scratches and the Earset 3 is too clumpsy to carry separately since it will be hard to fit both the Serenata and Earset 3 in the pocket. Please no LV versions...

The Serenata can be hooked up to your audio system.
You can play songs via ML in an other room if you like.
    That should count for something...

    Re: The Serenata has launched!

Does this mean that you can wake up to your favorite radio channel (or TV program) transmitted via the Serenata?

In other words - can the Serenata be a replacement for a bedroom-BL3500?

That could definitely wake me up

Now that I've read the user guide, I'm having mixed feelings about daily use as a phone..[:'(] The display is only partly sensitive, you have to use the wheel to dial a number or write text for an SMS, so instead of direct key for each letter/digit, you have to make (at least) two actions: first turn the wheel to highlight the right character, then press OK..so it is even worse than doing it on Serene! 2 actions instead of one, people are going to go to hospital for thumb emergency operation after one day of turning and clicking for sending one SMS..Surprise. It seems to me more like a music player than a phone, besides, I thought the "MUSIC" and "MORE" alu keys were ..keys, but actually it is the screen part that's just below the "MUSIC" or "MORE" text that reacts to a pressure.

I wish they had made the whole display touch-sensitive, so that people could have dialled & written by direct pressure on the screen , not turning the wheel for ever...and pressing OK for ever as well!

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

The SMS messaging concept using the wheel seems ridiculous to me! I have used the exact same kind of thing with a special design project my friend was making at university. This involved an iPod-like touch wheel to enter in text, just in the same way as the letters appear on a circle on the screen of the Serenata. My friend decided to scrap the idea because it became so hard to select the correct letter and because of how long it took to scroll to the correct letter and then select it. Seems to me like a big concern here. I understand a cell phone is primarilly for talking, but I use SMS and email on my cell phone every day.

    Fashion statement?

I LOVE the wheel idea and was hoping that this would be the the end result.

By the way, someone emailed me, but I accidentally deleted it before I read it, so I don't know who you are either! Sorry.

I'm sure Torben said €1030 when asked by a member of the press at the launch.  It comes with Earset 3 too included !!

As for the sound - yes, it really is impressive. I will be doing a review tomorrow as Bang & Olufsen have actually lent us one to test!!!!

What on earth are you saying?!!! - How can you compare THAT with a Serenata?

It's like saying the Lamborghini Gallardo was inspired by the VW Polo as they both have 4 wheels!  Yes, they both have a scroll wheel.. and.. err... that's it.

... and i said inspiration too!  How can SBH-300 inspire a world-class designer like David Lewis to create the Serenata?

Yeah you took the words out of my mouth lee. Ugh what is that thing? Mmm Gallardo.

Hey it doesn't look as though it uses any SD cards. NO! I want as a replacement for the Beosound 2, but that would then deem my other SD products useless

    Re: The Serenata has launched!

Speciel message too 9 Lee Party!!!

Sophisticated design inspired by nature said David Lewis.

Serenata is a music mobile phone with an organic rounded design.

"I often take long walks by the sea where I live", explains Bang & Olufsen designer David Lewis, "and the shape of the nicely rounded stones that are washed to shore has always fascinated me.

These stones have been carefully shaped and rounded by rolling in the water for millions of years, and they are so wonderful to hold in your hand. This was what I was looking for."
