I think you might be thinking of remote access.
When away from home, you can call your Beotalk and listen to your messages........I think.

now i have screwed up. in all this fuddling around, i have misplaced the power adapter and coupler for my beocom4 in a move...

is the adapter the same between the 6000 and the 4?
