    I have to support Graham here - Alex is 100% wrong.

    Laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea to adjust the focal length in much the same way as spectacles do. Lasering the retina would destroy your eyesight completely as this is the photo sensative area at the back of the eye which sends the image to your brain.

    Nobody actually said it involves lasering the retina. The facts stated were that laser surgery corrects issues with the retina - My last post on this.
