I am pleased to announce that the code for the STARS and "F" is now in place and appears to be working correctly.

    Regards Keith....

    tournedos:

the one thing I miss already is the old "Forums" main page which allowed a look at the most recently active topic in every subforum.

    j0hnbarker:

Is the old 'Forums' main page coming back or is it gone forever? I found it really useful to see what the latest post was on each forum

    Puncher:

Individual posts seem to take up a lot more screen area - I can only view two posts at the most without scrolling

    Same here.

I have done some measurements and compared the same posting on the old forum with the new layout and you are correct the new forum layout means each posting is one normal text line height more than the old. If you look at the bottom of each posting there appears to be a larger space than previous, so I will look to remove this extra space which will make all the posts the same height as the previous forum.

    Regards Keith....

I further played with the new structure and I confirm my first impression: I feel that it is not convenient to navigate between the subformums and I confirm that I really do miss the old 'Forum' main page which gave an overview of all subforums. Could this one be re-implemented? Thanks.

You won't!  I don't think any of us want BeoWorld to look like a teenage chatroom?

However, if everyone wants animated avatars - i'm happy to listen..

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT -- Update to Forum

I have a huge respect for all the hard work put into this, of course this
goes especially towards Keith who is working a particular bodypart of his off
    but I must agree with js;

I had a little trouble adjusting myself to the Beoworld forum after the previous
update but after about an hour of playing around it settled nicely.
This one, however, I've been playing around with more or less since the update
    and I still have trouble.
Yes, I know I am not getting younger ...
and not less grumpy either ...

I have completely lost the big view of the subforums and it takes quite a few
clicks and page swaps to check what is going on where.
I appreciate that the new code opens for more functionality but the main forum page was
    much better before.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT -- Update to Forum

I think it looks great - really well done to all involved - but I agree with John and Martin about losing sight of the latest thread on each of the sub forums.

    Cheers

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT -- Update to Forum

I am sure it was a lot of work to get everything to this level, but to be honest, this update was the wrong way, I can not see any improvement, its just confusing to use.

I hate to say it. But i dont like it. Really dont like the way the subforums are listed/displayed. Im sure i'll get used to it. Did it really need changing?
