Re: Job Vacancy with B&O Dealer - London
@ Flappo, looking at your avatar, are you an owner of the worlds heaviest cookbook? I had one shipped through amazon.uk to the US, must have cost them a fortune.
In regards to the complainers, didn't the prices on the BVs recently come down a bid? Isn't there a BV8 coming with surround and multiple HDMIs? Just a thought that we may owe a thank you to the "negative nancys"

9 LEE:
but if there are any other dealers that favour the idea of a 'Jobs' section in say 'Lifestyle' then please let me know.
Sounds like a very good idea Lee.

I think that most dealers will want someone with a proven sales record and preferably some B&O training behind them. Unfortunately a number of stores have closed so there are some good people around. I, for one, would not presume that I had anything like the skills required.

That's great news Peter - good GP's are worth their weight in gold

As a medical student, I would have thought that you wouldn't believe the government spin. No pay rise for 4 years now and having to fund the rises of our staff. Not complaining but you shouldn't believe all you read!

Ah - Peter, you forget that I was/still am a middle-ranking civil servant at the Department of Health. I have all the pay grades nailed to the back of my desk. Sorry if you took offence, but I've previous from well before my medical student days, and know more than most. I must stress though that I have no agenda, and would in fact recommend a career in General Practice to anyone :)

Re: Job Vacancy with B&O Dealer - London
Well you don't have to worry about any 'potential customers' as I have no interest whatsoever in pursuing a job in retail, I did that when I left school. I made my post quite deliberately because I wanted to inject some energy into this forum, which of late, and in my opinion only, has become extremely negative towards Bang and Olufsen. That is not what I expected when I joined what I thought was an enthusiasts website of the brand. I don't have any regrets about my post because it was based on making a serious point. It has been interesting and entertaining to see some of the replies and I feel pleased that I have made an impact and provoked such responses. Passion is a good thing.
Bottom line, I love this brand, I buy it for my own reasons. Whatever others choose to do is down to them but it will never stop me from expressing my opinions whether you agree with them or not. Doesn't affect me either way so its pretty irrelevant. If people feel threatened by my comments or see them as arrogance then I take that as a compliment, so thanks.
Simon.

Odd way of doing it. I would have thought the better way would be to not offend fellow Beoworlders and this site, as these are the people you may need help from in the future. You say passion is a good thing, but let's not turn that passion into hate and alienation. Posting on this site should not be done as self indulgent entertainment at the expense of other peoples feelings.
BTW retail is a very good profession, not a high school jaunt. It should be taken just as seriously as any other job.

Re: Job Vacancy with B&O Dealer - London
Well that was never my intention Chris, if you reread my post you'll see that there was an underlying post. Many people (including Lee, Matt and others) have often mentioned to me that they like and look forward to my posts because they are thought provoking and encourage debate, so while I respect your opinion, lets see how others respond over the next 24 hours or so. If you (personally) feel provoked or insulted then I would suggest that you have missed the point of my posts and perhaps made it personal. I am passionate, opinionated and speak my mind. There is nothing bad about that.
Simon.

Re: Job Vacancy with B&O Dealer - London

I find it a real shame that you have jeopardised a genuine offer from a UK dealer to offer a Beoworld member employment within a company which they hold close to their hearts simply to make an inane point. If I was that dealer, reading this now, I would be straight down to the job center looking for a spotty teenager and a government grant rather than employ somone off of here.....
Thanks a bunch for all you have done for the Beoworld reputation - I hope you are happy.
Chris.

Re: Job Vacancy with B&O Dealer - London
Maybe as the electrons came across the Atlantic, they were jumbled. I thought this forum is about a common interest in Bang & Olufsen products. Instead its sounds like a religious or political discussion which usually nobody ever wins. I think most people are not enthused about remarks that are made only to anger or insult people.
Not everyone likes everything B&O makes now or in the past but that doesn't mean they are no less enthused about the company. Lets move on.

Simon I agree with you completely. The amount of negativity here has become amazing. It reminds one of the cliche' "with friends like....who needs enemies?" Having said that it is a public forum and it is a posters right to post negative comments and my right to not read them.

Simons original post has nothing to do with negative - or otherwise comments - but simply a points scoring exercise (which he has freely admitted in his last post) which IMO is completely counterproductive and unwelcome on what is an otherwise friendly & informative forum.
And for that reason I am locking this thread before it descends into farce.
