    beoworld logo

I find it strange that the logo used by beoworld is a similar copy of the following site

    http://www.healthcarecommission.co.uk/homepage.cfm

I thought that beoworld like Bang & olufsen strived for uniquenes.

    Re: beoworld logo

Sometimes when designing logos it is difficult to check a design against all logos in existence. When designing the BeoWorld logo it was designed without knowledge of the Healthcare Commission logo however there are similarities. Lee with this in mind would you like to alter your logo in anyway?

    Re: beoworld logo

Well, unless some kind soul wants to donate a few thousand pounds to BeoWorld for new stationery and merchandise, i feel we should stick with our original logo.

I am sure it wasn't copied from a healthcare site! - and Van is correct in saying you can't check every logo on the planet before launching your own.  They do actually follow the same theme, but are actually pretty different if you study them.

However, if everyone feels very strongly - we will have to think again..

It's a different colour!! Leave well alone - I can't see people mixing us up and no doubt they will be spending millions soon in changing it!

Don't bother changing anything! No doubt the Healthcare Commission will either reconfigure its own logo in time, or be reorganised/rebranded as so often happens with these NDPBs. The HC itself came out of the Commission for Healthcare Improvement, so you can see where I'm going with this.........

    Re: beoworld logo

I don't see any need to change the logo; yes, both have some similarities but like someone said, if you see it carefully you'll realise that both are quite different, i.e. colour, the way both are placed, the lettering associated and so on.

Uniqueness can be, sometimes, just a state of mind, i say, bang & olufsen logo it's quite differente since it has only letters, otherwise we could, in a deep search, find some similarities with other logos, IMO.

There are thing we need to worry about - the price of beer, whether the cat in the box is actually dead, George Bush etc.

    This isn't one of them.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

There would be only one real reason to change the logo and that is if it were trademarked, as it is not, then I suggest you leave it as is.

    Regards Keith....

I think it was a reasonable point. Logos are important though in this case I don't see that there is a problem. I don't think we are making any particular health claims for the ownership of B&O! Laughing

I think worrying about whether the cat in the box is dead or not is that important. Surely before establishing the relative mortality of the cat (& indeed how many times it has died divided by the original nine), we need to establish whether or not the cat exists when in the box. Or out of the box. And what colour is best for a striking advertising grant to carry out the experiment in the first place. Wink

The idea that the logo is the most pressing concern regarding the state of BeoWorld and the work the principals have done is refreshing.  Congratulations on a job extraordinarily well done.

Jon, Please accept my humble apologies for being so harsh and brutal Embarrassed
Using more diplomacy, I should have pointed out that in my honest opinion, the logo was of less significance than the contents of the site.
