Re: MC120.2's compared to S80.2's and others

Put some air in yer tyres Andy............

I think I have a buyer lined up for mine (wife breathed a big sigh of relief when she heard) but if it falls through they are up for serious offers.

@ John are you still in Pudsey? you're more than welcome to come over and have a look & listen to these.

Yes, I believe I have helped carry them.
Corsa back seat goes flat, I still think they will fit with the stands off.

    Hi Andy

That's really kind of you - I checked with Peter and he's happy for you to give it a go and try and fit them in your Corsa. I'll drop you a PM to try and sort something out!

Chris - thanks for the offer - I might see how I get on with borrowing Peter's in the short-term just so I can try them out in my living room side by side with my Pentas using the BM8000 to power them. Assuming we can get them up to Leeds, you're welcome to come over and have a listen using a BM8000 if you'd be interested in comparing them :)

Re: MC120.2's compared to S80.2's and others

    Peter :
As far as I am aware, the MS150.2 differs only in having a pair of binding posts compared to the MS150. If you would like to borrow a pair of MS150s, I may be able to help!! They are refoamed and at present residing in Eastbourne!! Could do with some exercise!

I think the midrange unit was changed in the .2 series - instead of the translucent dome they have a dark doped dome, at least the .2s I've seen.

I think you are right. The .2s were not out that long so I have not come across a pair recently.

Re: MC120.2's compared to S80.2's and others

Very interesting threads as a few weeks ago I won an auction for a Beomaster 8000, Beocord 8002 and Beogram 8000, with remote and a pair of S120.2's and pair of S45's. I'm having the surrounds redone for the woofers of the S120's, these speakers are really heavy!!!!!!!! Can not wait to hear them. Someone mentioned that stands might still be available, does anyone have the low down on where or who may have a set?

     Best regards,

     Dave

OH YEH! I paid $550 for everything.

About 12 kg each. The MS150s are 30kg each - as Andy will testify!

They are heavy and with the stands they are at least 35 kgs each but weigh a lot more when you're lugging them about.I thought my MC120.2's were heavy until I came across these, the MC120.2's are mounted on wall brackets out of the reach of grandkids and look fine but not as good as on floor stands.
