    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

    burantek:

i actually don't think now that the rl35's had a wall mount option.

RL35s can be wall-mounted (mine actually are).

You don't need any kit, just two screws or nails in the wall and then hang the RL35s (there are three holes in the back, either for vertical or horizontal mounting)

    Regards, js

    js-

    thanks for the update!

that should certainly make a difference to the op!

    (i hope he picks the 3500) ;-)

btw, such a simple thing! i wonder why b&o didn't either a.) make a kit or b.) at least note in the lit that they could be mounted. they seemingly took the line that it was not viable from a few posts back. i will have to look at the back of mine this evening... hmmm... where to put them???

    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

i did choose the 3500! Wall-mounting was a big part of the choice and the good words here about it as well...

I bought it without speakers (one choice was with rl35s, one without, the one without was £100 cheaper)

Now i am hoping to get the flat panels (although it is good to hear that the 35s can be simply wall-mounted: the bloke who had them told me they could be but he didn't say how - the mounting holes in the back! - so I wasn't sure) but i think the beovox 3000 look amazing!

    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

So, the system arrived this morning and it looks great!! Full set of original manuals and to my surprise and delight, a Beolink 1000 with manual (seems to be a Mk2, btw - Beolink 1000 written on the device itself and is in perfect condition other than missing 3 little rubber legs on the back but otherwise clean and all buttons perfect)!

I was wondering how you folks managed the mains connections, mainly from an esthetics point of view: I am going to mount the 3500 on the wall as discussed (it even has the manual for the wall mounts) but the power connections don't seem all that long when I think about them running the length of the units to one end - and the look of a power bar attached on the side would certainly not work the best (but i wasn't planning on burying the wires / replastering and painting the walls... so, how have you approached it please?

edit - I am thinking that all three could be joined into a 'harness' and then a single mains plug coming out of that so I'll be off to the local electrics shop to check out options...

then of course comes the work of getting it all mounted, level and even!

    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

thanks - it works, of course, but I ask since I was told that I should use tape2 on my  Beomaster 5000 receiver as it was the best option - so it made sense to ask!

    cheers

    well, i have used aux

AFAIK: the bm would see no difference between aux and t2 w/ an ipod input...

perhaps someone could enlighten us further to the differences w/ input between the two, if any do indeed exist.

    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

So, back to the multiroom: does this 3500 of mine support the MCL x-Tra speaker kit (please say yes... I just bought one!)

actually yes, it does... the x-tra is the mcl2a so i just plug it into channel 2 DIN connection... as simple as that, as far as i can see

    Re: Beomaster 3500 - 2 quick questions

so the mcl2a has a seven pin screw-in connector for one end of the mcl cable... i have two screw-in DIN connectors and i can buy 8core wire so would i not only need a wiring diagram to say what goes where of the seven into the two points on those DIN connectors or am i missing something?

otherwise, where might i buy 7core MCL cable with attached DIN connections on one end and bare wires on the other, please? those that i have seen (limited, on ebay) have connectors i don't recognise as required to attach my beomaster 3500 to the mcl2a

so, to add to this, i see from the diagram at http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/wiring1.htm that speaker2 is a 3 pin DIN... and the speaker 1 is 4pin... my non b&o speakers are connected to speaker 1 using a 2 wire / 2pin DIN conection... is this as it should be?

i have found mcl cables but they so far all are terminated incorrectly: i want 3pin din on one end, colour-coded bare wires on the other

     thnx
