pin 1 and 3 is sound out of the TV, used for VCR's. the sound wires in and out runs along in the same shield inside the cable, if the cable get bended to mush you can get interference like in your case.

    meandmyshadow:

I have heard of this before, it doesn't happen on my Avant but did on a freinds BV5.  It was explained to us that it was audio bleed through from (in his case) the Sky+ box he was using.

There were at the time 3 options, set the STB to switch off when not in use, remove the appropriate pins from the scart plug at the Sky box end (I can't remember which ones) or change the Sky box.  At the time he chose to switch the STB off but when he did change the Sky box many months later the problem dissapeared.

Why this would occur in some boxes and not others I have no idea but it seemed to be the route of the problem.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I have the same problem (I have an Avant DVD). I think Mr meandmyshadow are right about this. I had another satelite tuner earlier, and didn't have this problem. The new stb have this problem. But if I turn the set off with the beo4 bofore turning it on again it's no problem.

The easiest way to solve it is to get another stb, I think.

Interesting to see if the scart modifications will solve it though!

    Good luck!

It's because the sound sent down the scart is the last source you used. So if it TV then DVD you will hear TV sound, SAT then DVD it's SAT's sound you get...

HI - at the risk of repesating myself, and other peoples posts  - please mod your cable as described - your hearing crosstalk from audio being sent down the scart from the TV chassis.  I'm 95% certain -

It may be a cable issue, but it's certainly not limited to the Scart connections. I have the same problem on a US Avant. No Scart connectors here.

I can sometimes hear my Tivo when listening to my AppleTV and visa versa.

If I unplug the Avant from the power outlet for a few minutes, the problem generally gets resolved.

I personally don't think it's a problem caused by cables, otherwise friends and family with NO B&O would also encounter this occasionally. It's just part of the charm of B&O. After all you have different "problems" caring for a thoroughbred than you do for a donkey.
