Here's the actual product page for anyone who couldn't find it.  Great job Stig on finding ones that are exact drop in replacements!  I was surprised to see no modding was necessary.

Hey Keith, it will certainly NOT work on Penta 1's and 2's.  As I mentioned on my post on the first page of the thread, only the Penta 3 uses these 5x7 dot-matrix display modules.  The 1's and 2's have displays with pre-formed words like "cd", whereas the penta 3 uses the dots to spell out the word "cd".  To make it work you'd first have to order from a dealer the whole penta 3 display module - not just the LED display, but the decoder circuit board that plugs into it.  If you look at the service manual, it's a horizontal circuit board (or 2, can't remember), that sits behind the display area, inside the tower.

Are you sure they're backlight?  I thought the individual segments were illuminated.

    Graham1982:

    Very big long shot:

All of the three items (Cruise Liner?, Mercedes Cosworth 190 Duchatelet, Police Helicopter) have B&O derived equipment. The liner probably has a lounge fitted with B&O AV equipment, the Merc ditto and the police helicopter has some kind of acoustic noise reducing tech?

I told you it was a long shot

Sorry none of them have any B&O equipment. The Merc carried my stereo from the shop to my home but that is it sadly.

The helicopter has got some powerful speakers though so we can put announcements  out like if anyone sees little Jimmy wearing a red pullover give us a call please.

Thanks for the explanation. I like it very much, right up my street subtle modding.

    Kind Regards Toby
I better do my bit and suspend my siggy.
