    Prize Draw

    Hi

I'm really going to tempt fate by writing this post.

I can't wait for the first prize draw on Monday. It strikes me that statistically it will provide the best possible odds for me winning a prize.

Obviously as each month is completed the number of Gold members will increase, decreasing my chances of winning.

Perhaps I shouldn't have written this post.

Anyway, I will be keeping an extra keen watch on my inbox for an email.....

Hate to disappoint you, but the draw is at the end of May! Lee decided that as we started mid month, and we had problems with people being able to register as gold members that the draw was always going to be at the end of May.That is one of the reasons the first prize is a special one though we plan to offer similar worth prizes in the future. At present your chances are about 1 in 30 of getting a prize! Maybe we need a post of the week award with small prize attached! Not a BS4 though!

    Rubbish!

Buy with your eyes wide open and brain in gear and its the best marketplace in the world.

Buy with your eyes closed and lacking common sense and you'll get shafted just as you would doing anything else.

Didn't mean it seriously. I've not been an active user on Ebay for very long, but I've already noticed 3 or 4 B&O items which are almost definitely scams!

And you spotted them, so you are well on your way to using ebay with your eyes wide open!!

Philippe took the words out of my mouth! Euro Million = x1000+ BL5s and maybe a dozen BV9s or so. That'll do.

    For now.

    Re: Prize Draw

This has to be the only post with only gold members posting notes. We are all anxious, even if the draw is moved to the end of May.

     Good luck!

The draw wasn't moved! It was always the May draw. We were planning an April draw but once the old site went down and it took longer to get everything transferred, it became clear that we could well have problems with registering people so it was felt unfair both on potential members as well as on the site to have a draw after only two weeks.

    Sorry in dutch!

Jos als je goudmember bent doe je automatisch mee met de prijsfestival, in ieder geval voor een jaar, daar heb je voor betaald!

(voor ....mr Anders(son):  gomgom gom ogomgomgomgomgomgomgrrrrggomm LOL)

Sorry, but this makes absolutely no sense at all... Wink

After the meeting in Struer, I felt I had to upgrade my membership to gold. And I also like the idea of a prize draw every month. This must cost Lee a fortune...

    Well, Yes and No..

BeoWorld is a Limited Company, so is its own 'person' so to speak.  The prizes are costing BeoWorld a fortune, but hopefully enough people will see that the value of a Gold Membership is quite simply stupidly good!  This will bring in enough money to cover very nice prizes every month, and secure the financial future of the site.

As ever though, if BeoWorld starts to seriously lose money it will be me personally supporting it, as we have large loans to pay off!  The loans are over 3 years, so hopefully after that we can breathe a little easier, and if the memberships keep increasing we can further develop the site and start to offer even better prizes!

All i want to do is make BeoWorld the best site in the world, and make it enjoyable and rewarding for the members. Then, i'll be happy! Coffee

    Re: Prize Draw

At the end of the day the Prize draw is an incentive and a thank you for supporting the site. The sites ultimate aim is to make it self financing in it's own right (like any business).

There will always be members who make the decision not to financialy support the site and that's their perogative but I would encourage everyone to spend what is really very little money over a year (and many check out the site several times a day), so at even once a day that's less than 10p a day!

Lee, did you look at using Ebay as someone suggested? Maybe putting a few Beoworld items on and a description highlighting the fantastic prizes you can win.
