A list of options appears. Select "delete from Beosound 5". However I think in this mode empty folders won`t be displayed, so it`s useless for you. But in PC CD mode you can select COPY, the BM5 folders will be displayed. Now you can drag the folder you want to delete to the trash. But for 4000 folders it`s a lot of work.... Sorry, but I have no more suggestions right now....maybe anybody else?

Good luck

I have connected a USB keyboard as you have suggested and located the folders in the BM-Share\Music folder. I can then open the Music folder which lists all the seperate Artists under there own name(folder) and depending on how the tracks were copied, there maybe subfolders under each artist folder. I can as you suggest now delete at will, but I have to open each folder to see if its empty or not before deleting, which will take forever. I have tried a couple of Google's suggestions by running scripts and also a empty folder recognition prog "RED.v2.1", both from the BM/BS 5 screen, the later of which recognises only 2 folders which it then deleted, when there are 100's which it missed, so that did not work either. Can you suggest anyhting more please, thanks for your help.

Re: Deleting Empty Folders on BeoMaster

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I have checked and as far as I can see the Network File Sharing is setup correctly and I still have the problem, will try Stefan's option next, thanks again.

Re: Deleting Empty Folders on BeoMaster

i would say it is your PC network / sharing setup which blocks the deleting of the folders.

I'm using W7 64bit Ultimate PC connected to a BS5/BM5 in the explorer I can delete the files/folders in different directories (WEB, PHOTO, MUSIC) etc

Of course Stefan's solution works also but isn't as easy

Re: Deleting Empty Folders on BeoMaster

Just connect an USB keyboard/mouse to your BM5, and delete the files in service mode (Win XP mode).

Service mode: MENU - MENU - 9 (Configuration) - 0 - 0 - GO - Service mode .... as far as I remember.....

Hope this helps

I have tried a number of scripts and programs suggested on Google but B&O seems to block this working correctly, reporting that it dosen't recognise the, which I have checked and checked and is correct.

Other than deleting each one individually(and there are over 4,000 empty folders) I cannot seem to find a way to do this, even then I get an error report saying that I cannot do this as the file is open in Windows Explorer, when it is only open becasue I am trying to delete it, it is not open elsewhere.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading
