So I like the BS9000 and we have a lot of CDs.

We also have a Beolink system and it`s possible to listen to CD or FM radio in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom while listening to BS5 in the mainroom (in PC mode). Btw DR P3 is my daily wake-up station from my BS9000.

Yes, BM5 is a "quite normal" PC with Masterlink and Powerlink and it has a fan, but it is very quiet, actually you can`t hear it - my BM5 is hidden away in a (kind of) cupboard. But you can check that in the store too.

Hope this helps and welcome to Beoworld - sorry I have forgotten before.

Why did you keep the BS9000, because of its great design or because you still use CD's and listen to FM radio ?

Regarding the BM5, I understand that this is a "normal" PC, does it produce any sound from fans or anything ?

Thanks.

Visit a Beo store in Munich and browse danish N.RADIO stations.

For transferring AACs (?) you can connect an USB disc directly to BM5 and copy your music directly to the BM5 disc or copy files via Beoconnect if you have a mac. BS5 won`t play copy protected music. Quality will be the same as before, but ripping your CDs lossless will result in better quality than lossy formats like AAC or mp3.

I was in the same situation as you - owning a BS9000 and wanted a BS5. Now I have both.....

Stefan

I`m listening to DR Klassik on my BS5 right now - thanks for the hint.

Netradio on Beosound 5 ?

Hi,

Being Danish I am somewhat addicted to b&O products and have many of their products already.

I am thinking about replacing my Beosound 9000 with the Beosound 5 as I am anyway not using the CD's anymore (all CD's imported into Itunes).

However, currently I live in Munich, Germany and I miss Danish radio like P3 and other stations, and wondered if a Beosound 5 would give me access to such programs through its Netradio functionality ?

Also, if I decide to buy the BS5 is there a neat way to get the music from Itunes on the BS5/BM5 ? I have read somewhere that doing this will give a lower quality than re importing all the CD's again ?

If anyone are able to answer these questions, I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks.

Jesper
