&lt;p&gt;Computers (PCs, Macs) and other devices have software built in to the hardware (ie. BIOS) so that the computer can understant what it should do when you turn it on. When you get your BV7 &amp;#39;software upgraded&amp;#39;, effectively it&amp;#39;s updating the firmware.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Basically &amp;#39;firmware&amp;#39; is used to describe the updating of a device, normally a flashable ROM. Such an approach would certainly show care and proactive customer handling.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who votes for it as well ?&lt;/p&gt;
