I remember reading about the need for Mk3 Powerlinks to be used with BL3's, so if i use this from the TV, and then two Mk3 PL's to the BL3's, it should work perfectly?

Russ, sounds like just what I need! Next time you have a chance if you find out the product number and info I'll be able to order it from my dealer. Hopefully will solve my dilemma.

Hi Robert,

I'm at home, so I don't have the parts list in front of me, but there is a longer PL y-adaptor/splitter available, which ought to solve youe problem. If I recall correctly it gives you about 2 meters before the split.

But will I not need a female en on the cable out of the TV, in order to connect to the male end on the T junction, leaving two female ends to connect the standard PL cables to each speaker?

Maybe my interpretation of what I need is incorrect...

No, the cable you mention is a datalink cable, you need a Powerlink cable, simply.

Is this the cable I need Phil to take the PL from the TV, and then connect to the T junction and still leave the two PL inputs on the T junction for the connection of the PL to speakers?

Well, you can leave the speakers on the Sound system then, but connecting them on the TV would be a better option.

You need to connect the speakers to the BM5 if you do not have a Beosound or a Beovision.

You only need one short Powerlink cable and then you can put a splitter.

Phil I havent got the speakers yet. But is it possible to use them with the TV, only have them connected to the audio system and use optioning to sort out where the sound goes? Once you start putting scarts aerials and such into the socket panel on a BV8 you soon realise there isnt much room. Thats why I dont think I have room for a T junction PL. I know I could daisy chain some of the speakers in the range, but I had planned on getting BL3's, which only have a single PL. The other option is to add a BL2, but i don't think the neighbours would approve! (2nd floor apartment).

So, in terms of what i connect from BM5 to my tv, all it needs is DVI->HDMI, and connect Masterlink from BM5 into a junction box which is linked to my TV? No analogue stereo into the TV or anything?

Hi, the sound from your BeoMedia/BM5 will get to your TV via Masterlink, not Powerlink; if you use a T-Powerlink cable, you can have the benefit of turning your BeoLabs on without having to turn the TV on.

Guys,

I'm wondering, do you have to connect the powerlinks to the TV if you have a BM5 in an AV setup? I have a BV8, which only has 1 PL and space is at a minimum in the socket compartment and I don't think I could fit the PL splitter in there. However if I could get away with connecting the PL to the BM5 it would save me. The only other thing i thought might work was if a PL in to PL in cable existed, then i could put the T junction further from the TV. Any ideas if such a cable exists?
