In iTunes you proceed through the levels Music -> Interprete -> Album -> Title where each level occupys the full screen.

In BS5 however, the screen real estate is actually wasted. Just look their "cover flow". They have 4x the screen but the album artwork is smaller than a post stamp. The real estate is used for air and the beam only.

The good thing is that it is only software and would allow room and possibility of improvement. ;-)

Re: Played around with BS5 - Disappointed

My thoughts too, though the bigger screen and no finger prints would be an advantage. The MOTS software will be the most interesting part for me though whether that is enough would be debatable. It doesn't really fit in with my present set up though as I am not sure how well it integrates with the BC2 - having two control surfaces would seem odd.

Played around with BS5 - Disappointed

The hardware is well-built and meets the usual high B&O standards in haptics and materials. The user interface looks quite futuristic, but won't set a design classic standard.

What took me down is that the concept looks like just an interpretation of iTunes but it certainly does not put it to a new level.

iTune's cover flow looks much better and the touch screen is a much more natural approach to browse albums instead the decoupled screen and wheel user interface.

I think it does not beat a combination of a Mac Mini as a media center and a iPod as a remote controller if you already own a B&O TV. All that at a 1/4 of the cost of a BS5.
