the Beo5 Config tool and the USB Driver is only supported by 32 bit OS. So

it will work under Win7-32 all releases but not under Win7-64. The new Version 4.11

starts under 64-bit and you can work on it, but the USB-Driver is not working....

With Win7 a Software called Virtual WIN-XP can be installed. It´s a kind of VM which

can installed on Win7-64bit and simulate an XP32 on Win7 in a window. The USB Driver

and the V3.87 and 4.11 works fine ;-)

Regards,

I`um using config version 3.87 for a while on two different PC`s with Windows XP. I did not have any problems up till now.

Yesterday, It tried to install the same version on a PC with Windows 7-64. The installation was not a problem but when I start the software, I have following problem:
The Login window appears and I try to start in Offline mode. After that the Window `Loading...` appears, but it never disappears. I have to kill the application in the task manager.

I removed the complete software and installed it again but with the same result.

Did everyone else have this situation?

Thanks in advance,

The story:

Opening the device manager didn't show a yellow ! sign, with the BEO5 connected. Disconnection and connecting again....no result.

There wasn't any "unknown device", strange....

Then I tried a different USB port (one that wasn't used for the BEO5). And there it was in the device manager, the yellow sign. Now I could install the driver.

So in order: Open the device manager, connect the BEO5 to an USB port (one that hasn't been used for the BEO5) and install the driver for the "device with the yellow ! sign".

Thanks keith for the help. Opening the device manager was the solution.

Re: USB driver installation is not working in Windows 7

Piet,

You can manually install the driver via DEVICE MANAGER

Go to "Control Panel" then click on "System" then on Windows 7 I think if my memory serves me correctly it is "Hardware" tab then "Device Manager".

It is likely that you will see a USB device which says "Unknown Device" with a yellow ! next to it.

If, so then right click on it and left click on "Update Driver"

Browse for the driver at:-

C:\Bang & Olufsen\Beo5 Configuration Tool\Beo5Driver\Beo5Usb.inf

USB driver installation is not working in Windows 7

Today I have upgrade my OS from XP to Windows 7. On this PC with XP the BEO5 tool worked fine so far.

After the upgrade I installed the BEO5 software again (version 3.59).

The USB driver is not installed. I found an item on this forum about the problem. However I can't fix the problem. There is no way to install the driver manually.

Does someone know what to do?
