thank you very much for the IR-Codes + Buttons - I already programmed my Beo 5, tested it and now it seems to work just fine.

Hopefully my Beovision 7-32 will get updated next week - then I can use it with my Apple TV in all it's glory :-)

I had one issue with the config tool: when I changed the color of the buttons, I lost the IR-Code for this specific button after leaving the menu of this button. Is this a bug or a feature?

btw: for me it works just fine without the PUC-Codes - mainly because I fixed the ATV II directly under the BV 7-32 - so it gets always the IR-Signals and it is very unobstrusive (almost invisible). When the installation is finished (need to solder some wires) I will post some photos.

However, the current Apple Remote PUC on the BeoSystem 3 works quite well.

You are correct.. it is because Apple uses NEC protocol and when you did a repeat function it should just send a 1 bit repeat signal, but the first version did not do this.

Re: Control Apple TV 160GB

As I recall, the earliest version of the Apple Remote PUC on the BeoSystem 1 had issues with the scrolling from holding down buttons. The only time I have to use the actual Apple Remote is to activate subtitles on movies I've converted via Handbrake.

Re: Control Apple TV 160GB

As a general statement it should always be better to use the PUC to control Set Top Boxes and other units and is essential if you want the box hidden out of sight.

Where it is a product that is not directly linked to an audio or video product then direct control is usually the only way to control the product because it will not/should not be in the PUC library.

There are two main reasons that you may wish to control a STB which is linked to a BeoVision DIRECTLY (not using the PUC) and they are:-

The product does not exist in the PUC library

The product exists in the PUC library and has been uploaded into the Beovision, but either does not contain all the needed controls or some controls do not work correctly.

I have produced two Apple TV direct XML files sometime ago as follows:-

For the version which includes pre-Assigned hard Keys, then download it HERE

For a version which allows the "Repeat" function, then download HERE

If you unzip the downloaded file to C:\ then the file will automatically be added to the correct directory of the B&O COnfiguration Tool

Control Apple TV 160GB

What is the best at controlling an Apple TV 160GB on it directly via Beo5 or via PUC list BV7-40

If there are different XML files then in well post them here. Then I might even try me self.

I have CT 3.87 to programs Beo5 with.
