The short answer is NO

The long answer is because Pronto HEX codes are created for use by Philips Pronto and similar users it useful in as much as someone has captured a large library of products IR codes, but the need for a conversion to a Beo5 XML file is limited to B&O, hence no conversion programs. Equally B&O has no need for such a conversion program because they create their files directly using a capturing program.

The only software is the Lintronic software and my own Windows based program which I do not distribute.

Hi!

Yesterday I took a closer look on the XML-File Keith kindly generated for me (Technisat Power). Looking around on the net I found some interesting explanations about IR Codes (Pronto HEX) and I tried to "calculate/convert" the IR Sequence manually. A rather complicated and time consuming work (Although very interesting!). Is there any software that is able to perform this conversion? (Apart from Lintronic).

Given you have managed to capture a command successfully, means you do not need the Lintronic box for capturing ?

Hello Keith,

thank you for creating a full XML-File for the "Power" command. It works! I have looked at the RC5 protocol already, but unfortunately none of my ThirdParty devices seems to be using this protocol.

I guess I'll think about buying such a Lintronic box.

Hello Keith,

I red that there is a XML file for apple TV. Is this to control the apple TV direct with the BEO5? You don't need a IR transmitter connected to your TV?

I looked in the download section, but I cannot find the XML file. Maby something wrong with my eyes

Where can I find it?

Jasper,

There is in fact quite a few options when it comes to capturing infrared codes and the reason I often highlight the Lintronic box is that the output timings it provides, produces consistently good results, but any capture programme which provides waveform timing or Pronto HEX output will work perfectly well.

The issue for most members is decoding the timings and converting them into an XML file suitable for use with the Beo5. That is a complex subject depending on the protocol being implemented. The RC5 protocol is the easiest to implement because it is fully implemented in the Beo5 firmware which means you just add the product address and command in HEX, but all other protocols have to be created in binary or HEX string form.

To help you understand how complex the conversion is, I have created a full XML file for your POWER command which you can test in your Beo5. It can be downloaded HERE and just extract it to C:\ and it will automatically be put into the correct directory.

thank you very much for your answer and the explanation of the code I posted. Its great to hear, that the captured code seems to be correct. Capturing works very well with my old iPaq (therefore it is actually useful again).

I already suspected what you said about the Lintronic software. Do you know an alternative to this software or is the only way to buy the Lintronic TT455-RT-238?

I am pleased to note that the Apple TV XML works well for you, it is one of the most popular downloads.

With regards to the Lintronics software, all functions are ONLY available if you have the Lintronic hardware. This situation was changed by Lintronics last year in the version before the last one.

I can see from your captured code for your Technisat PR-K that it uses 32 bit NEC protocol with a carrier frequency of 38,380, so 38Khz

The address of the products in HEX is 04 and the POWER command in HEX is 08

The XML submenu command line for this POWER command would be:-

Hi,

I've just bought a Beo5. I have the B&O config tool (my dealer gave it to me) running just fine. I configured my B&O Equipment and I downloaded the XML-File for AppleTV here in the downloads section and now it works 100% controlling my AppleTV with Beo5. Great!

Now I would like to add some other ThirdParty devices. I've read here, that it is possible to capture IR-Codes with the PocketPC Software "RemoteControl II". Since I still have an old HP iPaq I tried this and captured IR-Codes for my Technisat PR-K, my Philips HDR and a small Samsung LCD. It worked great and I got all the codes I wanted.

And here I got stuck now.

I've got code like this (the example is the "Power" command from my Technisat PR-K):

Using the CodeLearn Section of the Lintronic Software as described, the convert button remains greyed out. Do I need to buy the Lintronic TT455-RT-238 box and have a connection or is there another way to convert this code?

I was reading a lot here in this forum, but I only found out, that it is possible to use "RemoteControl II" for capturing and then convert the codes, but I didn't find a description how to do it. It would be great if someone could give me a hint how to do that.
