BV7-32 with Humax IRHD5000C decoder. When switching on it has a 4 min delay before the TV sends the digits to the decoder. After 4 min everthing is working normal. Digits are send to the decoder without any delay. It is certanly build in the TV (the delay).

Switching on and using the remote from the decoder there is no delay. So the problem is not in the decoder but in the TV.

It could be a fault in the PUC or the TV software caused by some of the special codes the Beo5 is sending. You can always check if the Beo5 is sending IR with a cell phone camera.

Explanation: Some PUC's have special functions only for Beo5. That is why you don't have a timeout on Select (centre button) when you use the Beo5, but if you use a Beo4 you will have to wait 1.5 secs before the command is send.

Re: Beo5 delay on numerical input

I am controlling the V+ the same way but through the BV7-32 Must be the Beo5.

Re: Beo5 delay on numerical input

To be clear I am NOT controlling the V+ box directly, but via the STB-C in my Avant (the IC does have V+ on it) and a stick on IR blaster over the IR eye on the V+.

Also, the V+ will work fine when I control it with its own remote, so it must be an issue with either the Beo5 or the Avant.

When I had the Scientific Atlanta box all was OK.

I recently changed to the Samsung box and now the selecting channels via the number buttons on my Beo5 does not work at all for the first 15-20 minutes of the V+ box being switched on.

Essentially I have to watch recorded programs or switch channels via the left and right on the Beo5 for the first 15-20 min. After that the numbers work fine!

Any ideas guys?

Re: Beo5 delay on numerical input

David,

A Very Warm welcome to Beoworld.

Whilst there is a built in delay for numbers, I would not say it is 45 seconds, just a few seconds

The delay is built in to allow a user to enter more than one digit.

In most cases pressing OK (centre button) quickly twice will terminate the delay and execute the requirements.

Beo5 delay on numerical input

Hello

I have a beo5 and BV7-32 connected to a virgin HD box. all functions from the remote function correctly and quickly, however numerical input (ie to enter channel manually) does not work - in fact there is a long delay 45 seconds or more before they work.

Any ideas please?

Thanks
