Michael,

A very warm welcome to Beoworld.

First, let me say that the XML Converter help file suggests using the Lintronic software to capture the timings of unknown remotes.

The Beo5 does support carrier frequencies of 56 Khz, in fact it supports any carrier frequency between 30 Khz and 80 Khz.

However, the standard Philips RC6 protocol does NOT use 56 Khz, it uses 36 Khz, however I recently helped another member who thought he had a RC6 protocol, but in fact had a modified version (OEM -- Original Equipment Manufacturer) which used 56 Khz. The RC6 protocol was designed with OEM's in mind which allowed them to customise it to their own requirements within certain limits. You have one of these customised protocol remotes which will need to be converted to RAW from the timings to work on the Beo5. The Beo5 3rd Party XML Converter converts all timings to RAW, but you will first need to capture each timing from the original remote.

With regards to your Pronto code 5000 0073 0000 0001 0019 000c I can confirm it is a valid pronto code, the first value of 5000 tells us that it is NOT a captured code and uses RC5 protocol.

If you have a learn't code, then the first word of the code string will always be "0000" if the signal is modulated and "0100" if unmodulated

If it is non zero, then it is a defined protocol or a proprietary defined by a vendor like Classe

Defined protocols include:-

0000 Learned code format (modulated)
0100 Learned code format (unmodulated)
5000 RC5 code format
5001 RC5x code format
6000 RC6 code format
6001 RC5 mode A code format

73 defines the carrier frequency which gives a carrier frequency of 56,782 Khz calculated as one devided by the pulse period meaning 1000000/(73*0.241246)

So, for your Classe you will need to capture the timings for each button and then use the XML Converter to create the RAW codes.

No, you don't need a Lintronic box.

However, I found that not all Pronto code seem to be created equal. I had some for my Toshiba TV that acted the same way (iirc). Keith sent me an XML file for a Toshiba TV that he had (different model) and it worked. I *think* that the code you posted is not the full code, but maybe some "well known" short hand (but not known to us). That's the only explanation I could come up with, because to my untrained eye, it sure looks like a pronto code, and I think I found the same non-working codes in more than one place on the net.

As for the other codes you list, I'm pretty sure the Lintronic software doesn't understand those so they are of no use.

Hi, I have just aquired a Beo5 to control all my non-B&O stuff.

During my research I found this nice place and joined as a silver member to get access to the XML converter.

But so far I am a little lost.

I have the B&O config tool running just fine and have downloaded the sample in downloads for the Apple Dock.

Then I made a new config, added a B&O TV just to be able to continue and then added the Apple dock files.

So now I have just the Apple as my only device and it actually works 100% controlling my Apple TV.

Now, I would like to add the rest of my gear and this is were I am a little confused.

For some of my equipment I have Pronto files. It says in the help file for the XML converter to use the Lintronic configurator program (v001.004.010), but I just downloaded and installed it, but when I paste in a pronto code, ex.:

5000 0073 0000 0001 0019 000c

For on, the convert button is still greyed-out. Is this because it only works if I buy the Lintronic TT455-RT-238 box and have a connection?

Secondly for some of my things I have the codes in writing from the manufacturer, how do I use that with the XML app.?

Ex. I have a Classe SSP-800 and Classe have the following data for it:

The Classé SSP-800 uses RC6 protocol for infrared communications. The Classé Remote Control uses a frequency of 56.0 kHz.

Will RC6 56 KHz work with Beo5?
