Whilst it may appear to be an NEC protocol, all NEC protocol timing must have a start bit of 9 millisecond followed by a pause of 4.5 milli seconds +- 10% This pronto code decodes to a start pulse of 4.472 milli-second pulse, so not valid.

The NEC protocol format and timing is as below

After doing a little research I have found that Samsung use many different codes including NEC code. So far I have found 12 different protocols used by Samsung and one of the most common appears to be a protocol used by "PURE" the makers of DAB radios.

Also, be careful about some Pronto codes placed on www.remotecentral.com as many are invalid codes.

Out of the Samsung units which do use the NEC code, they use HEX address 04FB and command for power of 08F7

I also found several units which use Philip RC5 protocol which used the default address of 0 and power comand code of 12

Given that Samsung seems to use many different codes I suggest you capture the power code from your remote or get someone with the same model to do it for you. With the capture information then an XML file can be produced.

Re: Beo5 need some help

thanks very much Keith for your valuable input!

It seems that Samsung televisions are using NEC protocol. I found on remotecentral some codes for Samsung

but I do not have any ideea how to integrate them in an XML file. I was thinking that by using Generic 5.xml file

I will be able to figure out what to do!

The code is looking like this:

Device Code: 7 Function: 153 "On" = hex code 99
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AC

0015 0689

Is there an example for the NEC protocol?

Anyone has a XML file for a Samsung TV?

thanks again!

Re: Beo5 need some help

For complete information on the Beo5 then click HERE

Assuming you have got the configuration file produced by your dealer, then that needs to go into the "Client/your Beo5 SERIAL#" directory of the Beo5 Configuration Programme

If you have an XML file for your Samsung LED TV then you need to put it into the following directory

C:/Bang & Olufsen/Beo5 Configuration Tool/ThirdParties

In the configuration Tool in the "Choose Product" section, click the pull down in the top right hand corner to "Non B&O Product" and you should see your configuration file, now just Drag-N-Drop to the accessories box, then go to edit and check it etc

Beo5 need some help

Hi ,

I just bought a Beo5 remote from my dealer and he promised me that he will configure that for me in 1 week. However I found the Config tool ver 2.2 and I installed that on my computer. Now everything is perfect! I surfed on the Beo5 forum and I found a lot of info. Thanks!

Now I wonder if there is a chance to control my 46 inch Samsung Led TV with the remote?

I found a template for a TV but I do not have any idea how to make it works and to upload the file on the remote.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated,

Kind regards
