For the caps i bought a kit with normal non-audiophile caps from Martin Dillen. Reasonably priced (about £35 if i can remember correctly), and not at all bad.

Re: need help: BeoVox Penta 1 crossovers

Hey Constantine,

I'm not sure whether you already got around to changing the caps, but I just wanted to second your choice on the Solen caps. Many diy speaker builders have said that Solen makes great caps for the price, and that going with anything more expensive is usually not worth it. I haven't gotten my Pentas yet, but when I do those will be the caps I use on the crossovers.

Re: need help: BeoVox Penta 1 crossovers

The pictures are still available, just tested this moment. Some people seem to like the speakers that way. Haven't tried it myself, though. I just finished replacing all the capasitors in the crossovers of my mk2 Pentas today. Very satisfied with them!

Edit: I looked up the resistor. R3 is supposed to be 1.8 Ohms. (for the Beovox Penta type 6611, at least)

Re: need help: BeoVox Penta 1 crossovers

anoter one

Re: need help: BeoVox Penta 1 crossovers

another picture

need help: BeoVox Penta 1 crossovers

hi,

Few weeks ago I bought a pair of BeoVox 1 Penta. The drivers were replaced but not with the original ones. The sound was OK and I was very happy with my ‘babies’.

However, yesterday one of the speakers was not audible, so I opened the Penta to verify the crossovers.
