Dear all,

I am truely impressed and very thankfull.

Within a few hours I got 7 replyes and I now know in details how I can search to get a solution. I even have an offer - and I do agree the transport to Denmark is perhaps a little to high at this point of time, because I will start to search here local first.

The cabinet of 6500/7000 is identical, also inside the deck. But not the 5500, it's completely different, inside and outside.

All drives are different, 5500, 6500 and 7000 are NOT identical. 6500 and 7000 look quite the same... but it is not the same. The board on the drive ist different and the cable connector is different (180 degree mirror). If you try to connect a 6500 in a 7000 you will have a firework... or you exchange the drive and the cable!

Beocord 6000 is all different, more like the 8000.

Similar types of decks are used in Beocord 5500, 6500 and 7000 (and some Beocenters etc.).
The cabinets are the same but I'm not sure about the general electronics.
I've repaired many but never had to interchange decks.
I agree with Peter on the 5000 though.

Of course the best thing to do is to re-skin a Beocord 5000 which has a much better tape deck! Proper VU meters and a non auto reverse deck. In some people's minds, the best cassette deck made by B&O. (Bit of controversy designed to annoy any 9000 owners!)

There are two Beocord 7000s on Ebay at present going for the usual laughably small amounts!

I have a suspicion that if all you are doing is changing the cases, it won't make a lot of difference! Isn't it actually the same deck as in the 9500 - there were two types used there as well.

I have beocord 6500 in excellent shape and was thinking of letting it go.
Last time I've used it - about 2 years ago.
However I'm located in US and shipping can get very expensive

The 5500, 6500 and 7000 are all essentially the same deck. I am unaware of any major changes and I believe they all use the same service manual.

I am looking for information regarding the casettedeck in Beocord 7000 / 4941.

I have a product with a defect cassettedeck and are looking for a donor (the cabinet is in exelent mint condition).

Does anyone know if the cassettedeck is the same in Beocord 6500 or Beocord 6000 ???
