Some kits contain only a few, but essential, components, others as many as 70 or more.

Due to their nature, the caps are of different sizes though most of the radial (cylindrical) caps are board mounted 5mm pitch. Basic soldering tools and skills will do fine.

A few cap kits actually contain more than caps in that other components prone to failure can be included.

Martin

Re: Cap kits?

Most capacitors are nothing like the size of those in the M100! I posted the picture really because they were so big!! Take the top off the BM4000 and you will see what has to be done. I would start with one of those or the 1700. The 2400 is a pain to open - and even more to close!

Cap kits?

Martin. do you have a list of all the cap kits you provide. or do you just make them up as required?
Sooner or later I am going to launch myself into the world of soldering as I have started ammassing a few old Beomasters.
2 x BM 1000
2 x BM 4000
1 x BM 900k
1 X BM 2400
1 x BM 1700
I guess I will probably start on the one of least value(?) one of the BM 1000s
I am being spurred into action having seen a photo' that Peter recently posted elsewhere. I was supprised that the capacitors where so big, I thought they would be more fiddly than that.
Could you also give me an idea of the cost of the kits too.
I thought I would post this rather than PM you, as others may be interested too.
Kind regards,

Andy T.
