I was diverted to a very kind chap called Daniel. He copied me with a diagram of how to remove the covers from the service manuals. He gave it a go first and said he was able to remove the base cover with out any problems, but I still just can't do it! Might soon just give up on my red coloured BeoCom 4 covers

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Yes, I just befriended them today and told them how wonderful Beoworld is and of the handshake between Lee and TBS.
Many dealers still look on Beoworld a bit dubiously. The more that find out about our new found relationship with Struer, the better.
I suggest you ring them on 01256 355015 (Service department) ask to speak to Xavier tell him your problem and I am sure he will be only to pleased to talk you through. Thouroughly nice bloke! and you can tell him I said that too.
BTW, he is a B&O dealer in Basingstoke.

Andsy T.

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Yes Andy.

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Would that have been Sys_service Henry?

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Hi guys,

I've been able to buy a pair of BeoCom 4 outer shells on eBay and have now spray painted them a fantastic metalic red! However I'm having great trouble removing the current outer shell on the docking station. I think it's sensible that I remove this one before attampeting any surgery on the handset.

I bought the shells from some form of dealership in Basingstoke, they sent me a file showing me how to remove the outer shells of the docking station and the handset. For the docking station it just says: Pull the case off by pulling vertically. Do NOT twist the base of the docking station. This is a tight fit, but will release.
Yes it REALLY is a tight fit, so much so I can't take it off! Anyone who can help me out here?

Thanks!

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Thanks for the information Ed, if I do get these outer shells on eBay I'll go to my dealer and ask him to put it on properly for me.

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Henry, I have never worked on a Beocom 4 but if it opens in a similar way to Beocom 6000 then I can see what Ed means.
I have a loads of 6000s through my hands with great big chewed-up cases where people have rived there way in with a screwdriver.
I am pretty sure that there is a special tool for opening 6000s but I use a couple of cut up credit cards and it works fine for me.
Don't know if it's the same for the 4s.

BTW the guy on eBay is also a B&O dealer.

Andy T.

Re: New BeoCom 4 outer shell

Ed, the eBay seller says no special tool is required on the description of this item. I'll send him an email.
