Thank you very much Rich, and the FS is happy it goes with the curtains she says, I'm reclothing a pair of Beovox 3000 panel, dark blue, nearly the original dark blue Beo color. The FS bought some fabric for them, will show pic later, but there I stood firm and didn't give an inch, I was punished with silence for 3 days, I think I'm going to stand up more offen, the silence was kind of relaxing.

Gentlemen, I told you the color is maroon (magenta), one of the 5 base colors used in the printing industri, not red, not pink, even a blind man can see that. Here a better pic, hope it comes up better. Beovox 3702 Red Line speaker. No space for velcro

Fantastic RED speakers Soren!

Just kidding, of course. For attachment, look for Velcro brand Sticky Back 7/8" squares. That's what I used when I refretted the garage M70s.

Apparently, I'm never going to live the M70 refret down. For the record, I have grown to like the fabric selected by my wife. Would I do it the same if I had to do it over again? No. Am I going to change them now? No. Maybe after we move...

Ok, maroon I suspected a little more brownish (like maroons). But it surely looked like magenta. Wouldn't be my color for vintage but everyone to his taste...; at least it's better than Rich's FS version

The frets fits exactly into the box, and instead of making some pegs to fit it, I will glue it with double sided tape at 6 small points, after assambling and tests.

Lovely - if you like red!

Consider using Velcro for attachment if there is room for 2-3 mm of extra thickness in between. Then again, there probably isn't any need to remove and reattach the frets for years...

Here the finished result, the spray glue I used was a lot faster and easier to work with, than double sided tape as Leslie use it, the first fret I did with spray glue only on the front, and tape to the back side, but it is more time consuming and the tape I used didn't work as good as the spray glue. now waiting for the croosover parts from Martin, he shipped middle of December, but Xmas and Mex costums is delaying.

Then with the "back side" of the scissors I pressed the fabric into the frame offset, and was ready to cut, the fabric wheel cutter is the best invention since the hot water, it cuts fabric exactly vhere you want it to cut, and sometimes wheres you dont want it, so I cut the the over standing fabric in the inside corner of the frame offset, and then just peeled of the fabric.

After ironing the fabric I took some time planning the next steps, enjoying at the same time my Cuba, the frets are ready, the fabric ready, glue ready, cutters ready.

I stretched with my hands the fabric over the blanket, the fabric kind of got a little stretch as it attached a little to the blanket, I then sprayed the front of the wood frame with the spray glue, let the glue dry for some 4-5 min. and then pressed the wood frame to the fabric, cut the fabric some 30 Mm. from the wood frame, looks like this

Took it to the garage and sprayed the wood offsets, let dry a little, and then starting at the front at the middle of each side, with my thumps pulled the fabric to the back and into the glue.

Got the fabric, so here goes.

Glued the fabric to the first fret with a combination of Rich and Leslie system, but here how I made the 2nd one

Tools needed: Glue, pair of scissors, wheel fabric cutter (fabric selector's), hobby knife, rum and coke with ice.

And the fabric, as the fabric had some wrinkles, I put a blanket under it and as my wife (hereafter called FS (fabric selector)) is not at home I found her tool for ironing, and ironed the fabric. If anyone tells the FS that I can iron, I will be lost for the forum as I then will have to use my free time ironing.

Once you get the cloth on the fret board, the fit may be tight enough such that you don't need pegs or any other method to fasten the frets to the cabinet. That's the case with my second pair of M70s out in the garage.
