I halfway assembled it again and tested...ofc. I only got left channel sound resoldered everything and tested with a cd with Erykah Badu and it all worked I can hear a huge difrence on the base its way more precise on my beolab 6000. Considering I have not yet changed the opamp this is a rather unexpencive upgrade, with benefits:-)

Re: Beocenter 2300/2500 upgrade

Hi there.

I have located all the caps to be taken out now on my pcb 2 board, the opamp however seem abit harder to locate as they are not marked. Howevere I got 6 opamplike ic's on the back on the pcb from where all the caps sit. They are named: 353 st9401 and 4-558c st9405, are those the ones I shold change?

Re: Beocenter 2300/2500 upgrade

I have gotten the units now and did a listening I find the onboard cd and casette deck quite good sounding, but the other day I tried the Aux with some digital sound omg. that sounded as it needed some sorting. will this modification help on the aux source aswell or?

Re: Beocenter 2300/2500 upgrade

The OPA series ist the best price for this perfekt quality. There are a little bit better ones available, at 10x the cost and not 100% compatible.

The OPA 2134UA is probably the best one you can get. They can replace the LM833 or MC4558 and there is an effect you can hear.

Re: Beocenter 2300/2500 upgrade

Thanks for clearing that out:-)

Caps are magnetic, they are resistors/coils and caps in one, changing the signal.

But the caps have a function, just transmitting a signal but no during current.

It is possible to remove them if there is no DC offset. And this means to measure the dc voltage of every cap. If there are 0,0xV, then it is possible to remove the cap.

But you must know the circuit and what every piece is used for. Just cutting out parts will destroy the unit.
