If a soldering is bad, taking out the PCB might have solved it for the time being.

I opened the machine up and detached the cd-player. Wires and connectors seemed fine. Then I just cleaned places a bit and closed it. And you know what, somehow cd player works fine now! Still i'm not going to get my hopes up just yet, because there is a big possibility that sound disappears again, like it did before. Hope not..

Thanks for your help! I will get back to you if things go wrong again.

Re: Beocenter 9000 cd problem - no sound

hmmm ... is it a 14 bit or 16 bit player?

There are 2 going from the CD to main decorder PCB. wires break sometimes at the connector. With patience and small screwdriver this can be restored.

There are also some transistors on the main CD PCB that are suspect to failure. Mainly SMD transistors.

Re: Beocenter 9000 cd problem - no sound

Yup, mute relay is out of the question and it has been replaced couple of years ago.
I couldn't find any similar cd problems from this forum (apologies if there is).

Here is the problem:

Cd-door slides open normally, then closes and cd starts to "play" just normally, except there is no sound at all. You can even change tracks normally, but again, there is no sound. Radio works with sound.

This problem first occurred few weeks ago. After that first time, couple of days later, there was one time when there was normal sound, but the day after that, the problem came back. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks!
