How big are they?

They are 6 Ohms impedance so practically impossible to match today.

If they are surplus to requirements, I would send them to Frede so that they might actually be used. Whether he would welcome this is another matter!

There is a possibility to repair some of the speakers.

Specially the one’s with the cone failures, a very careful process can save some.

One of the most important restoration activities is to coat the cones with a special coating material. This will give all old speakers / drivers ‘new life’.

I think about 25% of the drivers have a broken coil and cannot be repaired.

A good deal of them has a low output and this cannot be repaired.

Anyway there is a chance one or more can be used, so please keep them or sell them to other Beovox 2500 Cube fan’s..

Hey Leslie,

I would definitely keep them, just in case they are repairable, and you want the satisfaction of knowing they are completely stock.

That being said, they look pretty haggard, with the diaphragms being torn and such. I bet it would be super easy to find a modern cone tweeter that fit and had fairly equivalent sound characteristics. All the research and money has gone into developing domes, cone tweeters are super cheap and haven't changed too much through the years. I bet the use, or maybe the lack of it, of ferrofluid in a modern cone tweeter would be the biggest difference between those old ones, and a modern set.

I have finally completed my 2 sets of 2500 cubes. I was wondering if the tweeters that I have as left-overs can be repaired (still 6 ohms).

Or can I throw it in the bin. Is the rest worth for selling (Ebay)?
