&lt;p&gt;I would definitely keep them, just in case they are repairable, and you want the satisfaction of knowing they are completely stock.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That being said, they look pretty haggard, with the diaphragms being torn and such. I bet it would be super easy to find a modern cone tweeter that fit and had fairly equivalent sound characteristics. All the research and money has gone into developing domes, cone tweeters are super cheap and haven&amp;#39;t changed too much through the years. I bet the use, or maybe the lack of it, of ferrofluid in a modern cone tweeter would be the biggest difference between those old ones, and a modern set.&lt;/p&gt;
