i will see if the levels are okay , otherwise i see if a zener might do the job.

It's not so easy to transplant 5500 technology into a 7000.

Check the signal for CMOS/TTL signal compatibility. Probably the signal level is higher than 5V oder below 0V, then the integrated safety diodes in den 80C32 cpu chip go defect.

BM7000 with this problem, often connected to a link system, have a defect 80C32 cpu. The port for the ir input is gone, overvoltage.

Use a 4-5V zener diode for protection...

The BM5500 used a 80C31 CPU for the controller, it's internally different to the 80C32 of the BM7000.

The 7000 was happily sitting in my livingroom , from early 2010 after being bought from ebay/

i did all calibrations , to be sure it was in working order and would not damage the speakers.

it worked normally , then a remote ir-sensor was added to the system and the unit modified accordingly .

this worked as it should ( it is programmed to start and stop by the build-in timer ) , i only noticed some problems a couple of weeks ago when i wanted to mute the unit and that did not work.

if it refuses to respond , the way around is to switch the bm off with the front panel button , and then use one of the remotes to switch it on again.

hope this info helps

my partly restored BM7000 refuses to respond to any of my remotes every now and then................................

i have a BL 1000 , 5000 and 7000 all give the same result so i assume it is the BM rather than anything else .

If i manually switch on the BM , most of the times the remotes will work again.

any info which might help me to replace parts or........
