I have a Beocentre 2200 and the tape drive has just stopped working with the sysmptons similar to those described in this thread - press play and the tape deck wirrs for 5 seconds before switching off. Same with fast forward and reverse. The heads do not move when play is pressed.

Where can I get spare belts from? How do I verify it is the belts?

Belts for the Beocenter 2200 cassette section are available as a set with all three.

Agree with Jeff, most likely the belts. Fairly easy to change yourself too.

On the surface -sounds like belts... pretty typical.

hello i have a very nice beocentre2200 but i am having trouble with tape player ,iy you press any of the tape buttons its sounds like if it is working but nothing is happening,can anyone please help with this problem,
