I am very new in this forum and I am so happy I found you and hope you can help me further.

I have the same problem...:( The CD doesn't run.

Could you let me know please where can I buy the smd caps fot the Beosound Ouverture Typ2631 and also where are they placed on the drive?? Would be possible for me to replace it by myself???

Your answer would be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Have you solved a similar problem by changing caps?
I suspect some µController, or other control issue, because the drive must be electrical "ok" when i can perform these test procedures.

My service manual is mainly about the almost similar beosound 2500, and this manual shows how to perform CD play in service mode, this allows to read out error codes in the display. But the Beosound 2500 have a Stop button, and the manual describes the button combination of CD + STOP. The Overture does not have a Stop. Do you know how to do that on an Overture?

There is no need to use smd parts, standard caps are sufficient.

Just replace them, nothing else. But clean the board with paint thinner, the acid of the caps may still be there...

Overture CD only responds in Testmode...

Hello out there

I have an Overture Type 2623.
The CD does not work in normal operation. When i select CD and press Play, the display shows "CD <>". I can hear the laser is focusing in the beginning, but the CD does not spin up.

When i enter service mode, and try all the manual functions, like CD spin up, CD stop, move sledge to outer position, move sledge to midter position, laser on/off, everythings work well.

Is there anybody who have an idea where to start?

I have measured the power supply to the CDM12 ok, and there seems to be RS232 communication from the CDM12 module to the main µProcessor.

Regards Thomas
