They were very high quality Matsushita ones.</p> <p>The replacement ones are not servo (tacho) controlled and they are not double-shielded like the old ones. All this affects performance of course, and noise. The single capstan arrangement was an advantage according to B&amp;O notes, but only with those motors!</p> <p>For instance, you couldn&#39;t dectect any speed differences when winding or rewinding with the old motor.
