I don't think the direct STAND command is available anywhere on the BL7000. It does support the PICTURE + << / >> way of operating the stand, but that seems to only work with the older two-way TV sets. I haven't found EXIT either!

Thanks. The online manual listed that command, whereas the paper manual I have does not have that. So if I'm playing the radio from the 4500 through the speakers connected to the avant, the Sound button brings up the bass/treble commands, etc, but there are no numbers lit up. However, if I press AV RADIO, then I can issue SOUND 4 and put the system into surround mode. Unfortunately, the 7000 stops displaying the volume and radio preselect number.

Although the online Beolink 7000 manual DOES say there is a STAND command, I can not find it in the menus. Have any hints? I did find that TV MENU will bring up the menu on the Avant, and if I select stand position, the AVANT WILL accept the number commands from the Beolink 7000 to move the stand. Not as cool as a direct STAND command, but at least a partial victory.

The 7000 does have the ability to work both the stand and the surround status. Sound 4 will change the sound set up - you are correct that there is not a default to sound 4 though. Have you downloaded the manual on site?

I primarily use the Avant to play audio from my Beosystem 4000 to a 4 speaker surround sound setup. I want to use the Beolink 7000 to put it in Speaker 4 mode, instead of having to to use the Beo 4 every time I turn it on. (There is apparently no way to put the Avant in a mode that defaults to Speaker 4).
