The thing was broken and had been stuck in one position for years, and as a result the damping grease was sort of hardened. It was no more merely &amp;quot;sticky&amp;quot; but rather so sticky you couldn&amp;#39;t move that thing at all.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So now everything is cleaned and working again; but the lid is opening way too fast. Actually it feels like next time it will fly off and hit the ceiling.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now the service manual says you should use Rocol Kilopoise grease, but you can only get that stuff in bulk and at horribly high prices.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So my question is: Has anyone ever found some substitute or knows where you can get that stuff at a reasonable price?&lt;/p&gt;
