THIS may be of some help with the cabinets. To get a high gloss finish is quite intensive & there are no real short cuts (according to my brother who is a master cabinet maker).

The Beovox S45 (type 6427) woofer is a 6.4 Ohm impedance driver which means that it
will be practically impossible to cross to a modern driver.
I may have a pair of good used original woofers already refoam'ed, I will check.

Re finish, these speakers were actually produced in white though a bit rare to see.

It's damaged past the foam. The cone is punctured on both of them. As far as the veneer goes, it's just not my taste. I want to either de-grill them and have them all black or paint the cabinet white and still keep the fronts black.

Why?

The veneer used by B&O on these speakers is just gorgeous.

Dont' replace the woofers. Have them refoam'ed instead.
It's the best and cheapest solution.

Hi Guys,

I just got a pair of S-45's the ones with the two part grills, with a lovely BeoCenter 7700. Both in excellent cosmetic conditions for their age. My question is what replacement woofers should I put in as a replacement to the destroyed ones? I know SEAS made them, but I really haven't found one I am truly 100% on.

Also, any recommendations on what to use to change the speakers from wood color to a Piano black finish?
