I beleive an unopened/boxed Beogram 4500 sold for @ £1,200 on ebay not so many months ago which is over 3 times the new price in 1991 (£360 back then).

Oh - It's nice to live in Denmark Last year I bought a fully functional Beogram 9500 for 2000 Dkr (around £ 200)

Here it is! Worked fine, the shiny panel looked really nice. No guarantee though, the guy I sold the beomaster to later told me the panels turned down in the quality check for BM4500 were sprayed flat gray and used on the 3500 so I guess you'll never know what you find. Everyone I read about on the forum here who did this trick was pleased with the result though.

Graham, Why are these 4500 turntables so bl..dy expensive. Is it just because of the mirror finished top plate or are there any other quality items comparing to the 3300/3500 series. Have a 4500 set in my collection, only the record player is missing

Have 2 Beograms 9000 (mint & hint) which does not match with the 4500

The Beogram 4500 does have the RIAA pre-amp fitted and is thus plug and play compatible with all modern B&O audio. The Beogram 9000 does not have the pre-amp and also is not so aesthetically pleasing in my view. The mechnics of these turntables are identical.

Would you want a mirror covered in scratches to go with your posh new bit of B&O kit???

If you don't care then buy a cheapie but if you want the best...........?

Also, what can be done to make my Beograms 3000/3300 have the same looks as the 4500. Just replace the top plate with a mirror finished one?

Believe me, they are no longer available and haven't been for some years. It doesn't matter where you live, they are not available.

Hence , mint examples of any item in the series fetch premium prices. The only possible exception could be the cassette player which has a limited market nowadays.

If you are desparate, you can purchase a 3500 series component, remove the lid and strip the paint!! 3500 series is cheaper than 4500.

This has been done by one of our members, although I have not seen the result.

You may find a dealer, somewhere in the world, who ordered one for a customer who never returned to collect it. On the other hand, you may be able to find a needle in a haystack!!

My local dealer told me "no" for almost everything I asked about right off the top of their head. Soon after that, they ceased to exist.

I will try another dealer, the next closest store is beyond 100 miles from me.

I bet these parts are much more common in Denmark!

About the mirror panels: they're not stainless steel, but polished aluminum. I don't know if they're still available from B&O -but they were 3 years ago, when I bought one for my BG4500CD. So, contact your local B&O dealer.

I recently tinkered with my BM4500 and got it 100% functional last night (mostly just radio function issus). So before I close it all back up and re-apply the glass touch panel for good, I have a few questions:

Should I have it re-capped? (I don't have much soldering experience)

Where could I find a replacement stainless steel mirror panel? And for my BG4500CD?

Anything else worth doing?
