Update. The 7000 unit in the link room will reliably display the clock IF I tap the silver plate after the main unit is in standby. This cycles properly and then puts up the clock.

I monitored the traffic between my BS6500 and BL7000. Seems like the Beolink queries the time only once, when the button lights and the "standby" text timeout on the charger. From there on, it seems to keep the time by itself with no traffic between them. I followed that for maybe 15 minutes, I'm sure they will sync periodically some time later if nothing else happens.

Also, the BL7000 and the MCP seem somehow aware of each other, as the other one always goes "off" immediately when the Beomaster sends something to the other. But all the Beolink 7000's have the same protocol address, so they will surely get confused if there is more than one on the same "bus" (either direct infrared in the vicinity of the Beomaster, or on the MCL in the linkrooms).

That did the trick on the 7000 in the same room as the 4500. They work now as long as only one Beolink 7000 is in the room. I still have intermittent function for the unit attached to the XTRA speaker system.

Yes, the BL7000 is pretty old and the caps are going bad.

The first indicator for bad caps is a bad or slow two way communication.

I believe whenever I have tried this I have had two 7000's in the room. I will try this again with them separated! Any ideas on why the 7000 in another room hanging on the wall charger, and connected to the 4500 via MCL cable, will sometimes display time and sometimes not?

My only transceiver in my bedroom (where I have a bl7000) is my two-way MX4000, that is connected to an MCL2AV (which is connected to the BS7000 in the livingroom), and since my bedroom MX quite often loses its time setup the bedroom BL7000 sometimes displays the wrong time - it seems like that BL7000 uses the MX's timestamp instead of the timestamp from the main system. Is there a solution or a workaround for this problem?

Do you need any remote transmission capability on the MX4000? If not, you could consider masking the transmitter LED with a piece of black PVC tape. Behind the bezel, of course.

Yes, 2 BL7000 in the same room can cause this symptom.

BM7000 (4500) and BL7000 are talking all the time and transfer the time stamp. This is done with a handshaking protocol.

If a second BL7000 is in the room, the second one does not know to keep quiet and not to disturb the communication of the first one.

If there are problems with the communication then it will be stopped after a certain time.

Try it with just one BL7000....

There's nothing wrong with owning multiple Beolink 7000's! I have two. Both of them have the clock display set on and both of them display the time in standby mode when they are placed on the charger... One is software version 3.1, the other 2.1. Do you have more than one Beolink in one room? I've heard that this might be an issue... I will have a go at this later today.

I own four Beolink 7000's (I know, a sad state of affairs). One of them properly displays the clock when in standby, after a little while. Another one will only do it when connected to the XTRA Wall Mount, and then only randomly. The other two don't display the clock at all. Although, the clock time is correct when I go through the PANEL menus to check. On all of them the clock display is set to ON. Is there a way fix to this? I am using these with a Beomaster 4500.
