What about LED or LCD display sets? Do these type of sets affect the remote control signal reliability?

This is only an issue with Plasma screens in the same room.

The IR receiver on the Beosound 9000 cannot see the IR codes from the beo4 remote due to light noise and EMC from the plasma monitor.

Typically the noise level is stronger than the IR codes from the IR remote depending on the position and direction of the plasma screen in relationship to the Beosound 9000.

The 370 KHz IR light from the plasma monitor is disturbing the 455 kHz carrier of the B&O IR transmission.

The solution was NOT a software upgrade, but the replacement of PCB14 part number 8005299 which updated the AGC circuit (Automatic Gain Control) and improved infrared notch filtering.

I seem to recall that a hardware upgrade exists for BS9000 Mk.I and Mk.II that makes the IR receiver more immune to plasma screens, already present in Mk.III.

Other than that, I'm afraid the only solution is to relocate your equipment so that the BS9000 won't "see" the screen as directly as it does now. Even a small move might make the difference - if you don't have them both fixed to the wall or something, it might be worth it to experiment a little.

Beosound 9000 MKII SW 2.21 upgrade chip

Greetings gang!

I was having an issue with my Beo4 remote not working on my Beosound 9000 MKII while my plasma TV was on.

I was informed to install a SW 2.21 upgrade chip...which I did, but I'm still having the exact same problem.

Do I need to do something special after the chip installation to make the remote work properly?

Was this the right chip to install?
