The dead channel may come back; the deck will sound much better.&amp;nbsp;I just restored a 9000 that had lots of distortion. With new caps it sounds great.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As for standby... check fuses. But the fuses may have blown because of a short, perhaps in power supply?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There are 2 fuses.... one on regulator board and one inside the power transformer can.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;At present it has the following problems.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;No standby light.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Needs to be lubricated? For fast forward and reverse.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Left channel missing. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It was playing a little today. Left channel playback&amp;nbsp;was gone. Somehow the even the standby light has gone missing so completely dead.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have opened it up so what is the first thing I need to do? Also what multimeter can you recommend? I do have the service manual for BC6002-8004 to look at as a guide.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Some of the printboards have green/white oxicide. What method of cleanning should I do?&lt;/p&gt;
